Himalayan Daisy is a carpeting plant which spontaneously blooms in the hill-stations of North India, on the ground with wild grass, peering from wall cervices, and almost any place available. This evergreen perennial with green foliage, produces an abundance of yellow centered, small daisy-like flowerheads in summer. The plants abundantly bear solitary or few long-stalked flower-heads which are 1-2 cm across, with many slender purple or white ray-florets about twice as long as the disk-florets. Involucral bracts are linear long-pointed, with papery margins. The ray florets are initially white, maturing to pink. Himalayan Daisy is native to the Himalayas, from Pakistan to NE India, at altitudes of 1300-3600 m. Flowering: April-October.
